places of interest
There
are so many wonderful treasures to discover on this beautiful
and uniquely diverse island.

|
If you
love history, you will enjoy Barbados. The island is dotted
with wonderfully preserved buildings, many dating back more
than 300 years. Explore the stately Parliament Buildings in
Bridgetown (home to the world's third-oldest democracy). Visit
the great sugar plantations for a taste of island nectar,
or sample the produce of our acclaimed rum factories. The
list of man-made attractions is endless. |
If you
prefer the beauty of the natural world, you will never have
far to go. Barbados boasts a wide variety of tropical plants
and trees, including bougainvillea, frangipani, traveller
palms, mahogany trees, and, of course, the bearded fig tree
from which Barbados got its name.

 |
Bathsheba
and the Scotland District are located on the east coast. The
spectacular and breathtaking scenery, forged over millions
of years by the powerful Atlantic Ocean's winds and waves,
rivals any place on earth.
